Setting up your Linksys MX2002CDI-JP

The Linksys MX2002CDI-JP is for CDI ISP subscribers in Japan only.

The CDI ISP handles the initial configuration. However, if you need to reset your nodes to factory defaults, this article will guide you in re-establishing the setup.

Before you begin:

  • Auto Configuration Server (ACS) support – The node supports automatic setup via Auto Configuration Server (ACS).
  • Parent node – Linksys Mesh node connected to your modem or CDI ISP equipment.
  • Child node – Another Linksys Mesh node used to extend your WiFi network. The child node can be wireless or wired.

Directions:

1. Power ON the node and connect an ethernet cable from the CDI modem's port to the Internet port of your Linksys Mesh node.

2. The status light of the node will show a solid purple, meaning it is ready for setup.

3. After a few minutes, the status light will begin to flash white once it has detected an internet connection.

The Linksys MX2002CDI-JP supports ACS. This means that once the node is plugged into the CDI modem and detects an internet connection, it will automatically configure itself as the parent node.

DO NOT try to set up the parent node with the Linksys app while the node is going through the ACS setup. Wait until the node self-configures and the status light is solid blue. You can then use the Linksys app to link your network to your Linksys cloud account.

4. Once the status light turns solid blue, the parent node has completed setup and it’s online and ready to use. You can now connect your wireless clients to your WiFi network. The WiFi credentials are located on the product label. The password is case-sensitive.

Your node is now set up. To customize, remotely manage, or add child nodes through the Linksys app, you will need to link your network to your Linksys cloud account by following the steps below.

Linking your network to the Linksys cloud account

Before you begin, download or update the latest Linksys app version (
Android™ or iOS), and make sure to connect your mobile device to the Linksys WiFi network. The default WiFi name and password are located on the product label of the Linksys MX2002CDI-JP.

Images may vary depending on the operating system of your mobile device.

If you don't have an account yet, tap on Create an account if you're using iOS or Create an Email Login for Android devices. These options will guide you through the registration process.

4. Tap Add to Account.

5. When asked for the router or admin password, enter the default WiFi password located at the bottom of the Linksys MX2002CDI-JP. The password is case-sensitive. Tap Add to Account again.

You have now linked your network to your Linksys cloud account. You can now customize your router settings as needed. To customize the router password, you can go to the menu and tap on Network Administration.
