The Backup and Restore feature allows you to save your current router configuration settings and retrieve a previously backed-up configuration.
Why is performing a backup and restore process important?
In cases when you need to reset the router to factory default settings, you will be able to restore your previous configuration using the backup configuration file after resetting. This will save you time by not going through the process of reconfiguring the router manually.
These options are only available if you are locally connected to your home router.
To backup and restore the router configurations, follow the instructions below:
2. Click Troubleshooting.
3. Click the Diagnostics tab.
4. Under Router configuration, click Backup.
5. A new window will prompt you to save the configuration file (with .cfg file extension). Click Save on the File Download window and select the location to save the configuration file, and then click Save.
You may change the configuration filename depending on your preference.
