Traceroute is a network diagnostic tool that systematically traces the path taken by data packets from your home router to a specified destination, whether it's identified by an IP address or a URL.

Why is traceroute important?

It reveals the routers and networks data travels through, indicating where it fails or reaches its destination. This article will discuss the steps on how to perform a ping test on your Linksys router.

2. Click on Troubleshooting.

3. Click Diagnostics and under Trace route, enter an IP or host name you want to test. Click on Start to Traceroute to begin.

4. Once the Traceroute Details page confirms the test's success and reveals the path of your packets through the internet, click Close to conclude the process.
