How to backup or restore configuration on your Linksys Managed Gigabit Switch

The Linksys Managed Gigabit Switches offer a quick and easy solution to extend your office network. The switches feature gigabit speed ports, a web interface for easy configuration and management for networking devices to be located anywhere without the need for alternating current (AC) outlets.

This article will show you how to back up and restore your switch’s current configuration to a designated folder on your computer or to a TFTP server. Click on the links below for specific instructions.

Backup configuration
 

1. Log in to the web interface of your switch.

2. Click on the Backup option located at the upper-right corner of the web interface.

 

3. Click on the Backup radio button and select a Method (either HTTP or TFTP). 
 

4. Click Apply to download the switch’s configuration settings to your computer or a TFTP server.
 

Restore configuration
 

1. Log in to the web interface of your switch.

2. Click on the Backup option located at the upper-right corner of the web interface.
 

3. Click on the Restore radio button and select a Method to restore your file, then select your backup file and/or enter your TFTP IP address. 
 

4. Click Apply to upload the previously saved configuration file to the system.
