How to change the Access timeout settings of a Linksys Managed Gigabit Switch
print icon

The Linksys Managed Gigabit Switches provide a built-in browser interface that allows you to selectively configure and manage the network via Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) requests to help prevent security breaches. You can manage your HTTP and HTTPS settings for each switch further by configuring Session Timeouts for HTTP and HTTPS requests. Follow the steps below to learn how to change the Access timeout settings of your switch.

If the images you see or the steps you follow look different from the actual page, here are
alternative instructions/information.

1. Access the web interface of your switch.

2. Click on Security.

3. Go to Access.

4. Enter your preferred Session Timeout. The default Session Timeout is 5 minutes.

5. Enable either the HTTP Service or HTTPS Service. HTTP is enabled by default while HTTPS is disabled by default.

6. Click on Apply to save the settings.
