If you would rather not set up your node using Bluetooth® or if you are having Bluetooth setup issues, you can set up your node via WiFi using the Linksys app.
Before you begin
- Download the latest Linksys app.
- A parent node is a node connected to your modem.
- A child node is another node that will be used to extend your existing WiFi.
- Write down the default WiFi name and password located at the bottom of the parent node. The WiFi password is case-sensitive.
Directions
1. Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the internet port on the parent node.
2. Power ON your parent node and wait for the light to turn solid purple.
3. Connect your mobile device to the node’s default WiFi name.
4. Launch the Linksys app and tap Set Up a New Wi-Fi Network.
5. Check for an internet connection.
If an internet connection is not detected, you will be prompted to check your wiring. If you have a PPPoE connection or a static WAN IP address, tap on Do you have ISP settings to enter?, select your internet connection type, and enter your settings manually.
6. Once an internet connection is detected, you will be prompted to create a Linksys cloud account. Either create a new cloud account or tap Log in here to enter your existing account credentials.
7. Your node will be linked to your Linksys cloud account.
8. Personalize your WiFi by customizing the WiFi name and password. Tap Next.
9. Connect your mobile device to your new WiFi name, then come back to the Linksys app and tap Next.
10 Select the name that best describes the location of the node you are currently setting up and tap Next.
11. You have now set up your parent node. Tap Next.
12. If you have another node to add, tap Add a Node; otherwise, tap on That’s it for Now.
You can always add more nodes from within the Linksys app settings.
13. Tap Next.
14. Your WiFi is ready. Tap on Go To Dashboard, then you can connect all your clients to your WiFi including the mobile device you just used for setting up your network.
