The Port Range Triggering feature allows you to set up the router so that computers can access public services outside the network or on the internet, such as web servers, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) servers, email servers, game servers, or other internet applications. Follow the instructions below to learn how to configure Port Range Triggering on your Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router.

Before you start, make sure to check the following:

  • Consult your device's documentation or online support site to find out what ports you need to trigger for your device as they differ depending on the application used.
  • If you are a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Internet subscriber, your DSL modem should be set to bridge mode. Consult your modem's documentation or online help for instructions or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and request that your modem be set to bridge mode.

1. Access the router's web interface.

2. Click the Configuration tab.

3. Click Security.

4. Click Port Range Triggering.

5. In the Port Range Triggering page, click on Add a New Port Range Triggering.

6. Enter the port details of the device or application you want to open. Provide the Application Name, Triggered and Forwarded Range. Then, check the Enabled box.

7. Click Apply.

You now have successfully configured the Port Range Triggering on your router.
