Understanding the light behavior of your Linksys Mesh WiFi system

Your Linksys Mesh WiFi system is composed of multiple units called nodes or routers. Each node or router has one main light that gives you information about its operation.

 

The power light on the Linksys Intelligent Mesh WiFi routers (MR series) is located on the front.

 

 

The power light for the Linksys Intelligent Mesh WiFi systems (WHW and MX series) is located on top.

 

 

Light Status Color Description

Solid

 

 

Purple Ready for setup

Blinking

 

 

Bluetooth® setup is in progress with the Linksys app

Solid

 

 

Blue Connected to the internet - the router is online, and everything is good.

Blinking

 

 

Booting up

Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) pairing is in progress

Solid

 

 

Yellow Weak signal (on child node)
You may need to move your child node closer to another node.

Blinking

 

 

WPS pairing has failed

Solid

 

 

Red No internet - check your internet connection

Blinking

 

 

Parent node:
 

  • Not connected to the modem
  • Check the ethernet cable going from your Linksys node/router to your modem.

 
Child node:
 

  • The child node is disconnected from the network
  • Check if your parent node is online

Solid

 

 

White Automatic setup or Five-Press Setup Method is in progress.
This is only applicable to Linksys ISP-specific nodes.
