If you come across devices losing connection to your WiFi network, check the following:

  • If you have enabled Instant-Privacy on the Linksys router, your device may have MAC address randomization enabled and therefore will not be able to connect the next time due to a MAC address change on the device.
    • Learn more about the private or random MAC address feature of your iOS and Android™ devices.
  • If you have older WiFi devices in the network, they may not support WPA3™ or WPA2™/WPA3 security settings. You may need to change the security type to WPA2 Personal. Learn more
  • Look for child nodes that have a weak signal and try moving them either to another location or closer to another node. Learn more about signal strength in the Linksys Now web interface.
  • Turn OFF the WiFi on your device, then turn it back ON to attempt to connect to a node with a better signal.
  • Check Instant-Devices if your device in question has a weak signal, then try to disconnect and reconnect the device to connect to a better node with a better signal. Learn more.
  • Restart the parent router.
  • Do you have any specific WiFi features turned ON, such as MLO, DFS, or MAC filtering? Try turning OFF one feature at a time to isolate the issue. To disable these features, check this article.
