Your router has an automated firmware update feature, which is the recommended method. Learn more.

However, if a child node does not have the latest firmware, you can manually update the firmware using a hidden link. This option works for the parent node as well. However, a parent node may also have a manual update option in the web interface. Learn more.

Before you begin:

• You will need to check the IP address of the node that you want to update.
• You will need to use a desktop computer for this method.
• Write down the router’s admin password. This is the same password you use to log in to the web interface. If you’re unsure of the password, try logging in or resetting it.

1. Download the router's latest firmware on your computer.

2. Connect your computer to the Linksys WiFi.

3. Once you have determined the IP address of the node you want to update, open a web browser, and in the Address bar, enter https://x.x.x.xxx/fwupdate.html (where x is the IP address of the node you want to update, for example, https://192.168.1.202/fwupdate.html). Press [Enter].

4. Enter the router’s current admin password in the Admin password field. In this example, we are using our customized admin password. If you do not know the password, see the Before you begin section.

5. Click Browse..., select the firmware file, and click Update.

6. Wait for the OK message.

7. The node will now reboot. The light on the node will begin to flash. Wait for the light to turn solid white again.

8. You have now updated the firmware using the hidden link.
