The Linksys Wireless-AC and Wireless-AX Range Extenders can easily extend your WiFi to hard-to-reach locations in your home. Follow the instructions below to access your range extender’s browser-based setup page.
Before you begin, make sure that your computer or device is connected to your range extender's WiFi.
Before you begin, make sure that your computer or device is connected to your range extender's WiFi.
1. Open a web browser.
2. There are three methods in accessing the range extender’s browser-based setup page:
- Enter "https://extender.linksys.com" in your browser.
- Enter "https://model-xxx" in your browser for Windows® and Android™ or "https://model-xxx.local" for macOS® or iOS. If you use this method, enter the model number and the last three characters of the range extender's MAC address.
NOTE: If you changed your range extender’s name, you will need to use the custom name (e.g., "https://MyAP.local").
- Enter the range extender’s IP address. If the range extender does not detect a DHCP server, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1. Otherwise, you will need to look up your range extender’s IP address in the router's DHCP Client Table. To know how to do this using a Linksys WiFi Router, click here. If you are using a Linksys Smart WiFi Router, click here.
NOTE: You can reset the device to factory defaults if you are having problems accessing the range extender's browser-based setup page.
3. You will be prompted for a password. If you have changed your password, enter your customized password. Otherwise, enter "admin" in the Password field then click Login.
Once you access the range extender's browser-based setup page, some options may not be available if it is in Access Point mode due to the design and functionality of an access point. If you reset the device, you need to configure the range extender again.
