How to disable Wi-Fi (Linksys)

This article will guide you on how to disable the Wi-Fi of some Linksys routers.  Click on the links for more instructions:

Through the Linksys server account
Through the classic web interface

Through the Linksys server account

 

1. Launch a web browser.
 
2. Enter "192.168.1.1", "myrouter.local" or “linksyssmartwifi.com” in the address bar then press [Enter].


 
3. Enter your Router Password then click Log in.  The default password is admin.  If you have changed it, enter the new password instead.
 
 
Alternatively, you can also log in using your Linksys server account.  Just click the link at the bottom.   
 

 

When the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Sign In page appears, enter your Email Address and Password then click Log in.
 

4. Click Wi-Fi Settings or Wireless on the left navigation pane under Router Settings.
 
 

5. Under the Wireless tab, set the toggle switch to OFF on the network that you want to disable.
 
 

6. Click Ok or Apply to save the changes.


Through the classic web interface
 

1. Launch a web browser.

2. Enter "192.168.1.1” in the address bar then press [Enter].

 
 
3. Enter your login credentials in the fields provided.  The default password is admin.  If you have changed it, enter the new password instead.

4. Go to Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings.

5. Click Manual.

6. Set the Network Mode to Disabled for the Wi-Fi band/s you want to turn OFF.

 

7. Click Save Settings.
