How to change the light of the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) to solid blue

The Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) router features a Plug-n-Play setup. When your router detects an internet connection, it automatically configures itself, indicated by the light changing from solid purple (ready for setup) to solid blue (online/connected).

Occasionally, the router may not go through the Plug-n-Play setup, causing the light to remain purple despite being online. This article guides you to ensure the Linksys MX4300's light turns solid blue once online.

Before you begin:

  • You will need a computer.
  • Note down the WiFi name, password, and recovery key on the product label.
  • This model does not support Linksys Mesh technology.

Directions

1. Connect a computer to the router's default WiFi name. The credentials are located on the product label.

2. Log in to the web interface of the router.

3. Scroll to the bottom and click on the CA link.

4. Click on Connectivity.

5. Click on CA Router Setup.

6. Customize a new WiFi name and password, or re-enter the existing settings. Remember, the password is case-sensitive. Click Setup Node to proceed.

Keep this page open. You will temporarily lose connection to the router while the changes are applied.

7. Wait until the light on the router turns solid blue.

8. If necessary, reconnect to the new WiFi.

9. Click Ok. Your network is now ready with a solid blue light.

You may need to refresh the dashboard to display your new WiFi name.
