SETUP AND INSTALLATION
The Linksys LN1100 bundled with Linksys LN1200 child nodes supports a Plug-and-Play setup out of the box. This means that once it’s connected to your modem and an internet connection is detected, it will automatically configure itself. You can also set up the router using one of the setup methods.
Below are the requirements for setting up the nodes:
- An active internet connection
- The Linksys LN1200 supports child mode only, and it requires a Linksys Velop Mesh parent node such as any of the models listed here.
- A Linksys cloud account for remote access (optional)
- A mobile device or computer to manage your network settings
The router will need manual configuration to get online.
The Linksys LN1100 supports a plug-and-play setup right out of the box. However, if you have to reset the router, you will need to manually set it up again.
If your Linksys LN1100 router came in a bundled package with other Linksys LN1200 child nodes, the child nodes will automatically be added to your network during the Plug-and-Play setup. However, if the router or child nodes are reset at any time, you will need to run the Plug-and-Play setup wizard again and then configure your router. Linksys offers several methods for you to choose from, depending on what you are most comfortable with.
Below are the default settings of the router:
- The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
- The default router password of an unconfigured router is the default WiFi password located at the bottom of the node.
- The default WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx where xxxxx represents the last five characters of the node’s serial number.
- Each node has a unique pre-assigned WiFi password located at the bottom of the node.
- The default Guest WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx-guest.
No. The Linksys LN1200 supports child mode only. They can only be added to another Linksys Velop Mesh parent router, such as a Linksys LN1100 or another Linksys Velop Mesh Cognitive model.

Safe Browsing offers two services, Fortinet Security and OpenDNS to protect you from inappropriate or harmful content on devices that are connected to your network.

ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING
You must first associate your network to a Linksys cloud account. Once your network is linked to your Linksys cloud account, you can then access your network remotely using the Linksys app or LinksysSmartWiFi.com page.
To set up your child nodes, make sure that they are near the parent node (node connected to your modem) within 10 ft of distance. If possible, put them in the same room as the parent node. Once they have been added, you can move them to other locations as needed.
To reset your router, press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds.
When you press and hold the reset button for about 20 seconds, you will see a red light in a fading pattern. When the fading pattern has stopped, which takes about 10 seconds, the light will turn OFF. Once the light turns OFF, release the reset button and wait for the node to boot up. Once the light is solid blue, it means that the router or node is ready for setup.
The nodes have a feature that automatically installs the latest firmware overnight and the upgrade only takes a few minutes. Make sure Automatic Firmware Update is turned ON. You can also manually check the firmware version of the routers and proceed with the upgrade if a new firmware is available.
After your router is online, if the setup wizard is not opening, try the following:
- Make sure that your mobile device or computer is connected to the WiFi of the Linksys LN1100 router that is connected to the modem. The default credentials are located at the bottom of the router. You can also scan the QR code on the router using your mobile device.
- Depending on the browser being used, you can try entering either "www.myrouter.info" or "myrouter.info".
- If you are connecting via VPN software, disconnect it. If you have any security software, try turning it OFF to isolate the problem.
- Try a different browser or try opening an incognito tab within your browser.
- If you are setting up the router again, the setup wizard is a one-time use out of the box. If for any reason your router was reset, open a web browser and access the router's web interface by entering "www.myrouter.info" or "myrouter.info" to manage your settings. You may also set up the router again.
The setup wizard has an option for Night mode. Night mode is a feature where the lights on a Linksys LN1100 router will automatically turn OFF from 8 pm to 8 am. If you run the setup wizard during this timeframe, be aware that the router will be in Night mode. You can use the Linksys app to turn OFF this feature. To turn it OFF using a web browser, follow these instructions:
1. Log in to the router's dashboard.
2. Under Router Settings, click Connectivity,
3. In the Basic tab, toggle OFF the Night Mode switch.
No. You must use the power adapter that came with the Linksys LN1200. Other USB-C cables are not supported.
If both URLs (www.myrouter.info and myrouter.info) are not working, you can try the following steps:
- Make sure your device is connected to the router's WiFi network.
- Try using an incognito or a different browser.
- If your computer is connected to a VPN, disconnect from it.
- Consider using the router's IP address instead.
- Check if you have any security software enabled and try turning it OFF.
- Check if the Safe Browsing feature is enabled. If it is, turn it OFF through the Linksys app. Tap on the menu icon > Safe Browsing > toggle the switch to disable > Save.
