This article will guide you on how to set up the Linksys EA9350 v3.
Before you begin:
- Automatic configuration – This model supports Automatic Configuration Server (ACS) setup for DHCP internet connection types. Once an internet connection is detected, the router will automatically configure itself. Do not use the Linksys app to set up the router.
- PPPoE internet connection – If you are using PPPoE which requires your internet service provider (ISP) credentials, you will need to manually set up the router.
- Write down the WiFi name and password located on the bottom of the parent router.
- Parent router – The Linksys router that is connected to your modem.
- Child node – Additional Linksys Mesh node to extend your WiFi network. Such as another Linksys EA9350v3.
1. Gather all your equipment in the same area as your modem. After setting up, you can relocate your child nodes.
2. Remove any existing routers.
a. I have a modem with an existing router.
-
- Disconnect your existing router.
- Power cycle your modem.
- Wait until your modem has rebooted and go to the next step.
b. I have a WiFi router and modem in one device or I do not have any existing routers in my home.
-
- Go to the next step.
3. Connect the Linksys router to your modem using an ethernet cable from the yellow Internet port to your modem and power on the router.
4. Wait until the light is solid purple which indicates it is ready for setup.
If the light is red, hold down the reset button on the back of the router for about 15 seconds to restore it to factory default settings.
5. After a few minutes, the light will begin blinking white, indicating the router has detected an internet connection and it’s going through automatic setup. Wait for the light to turn solid blue.
6. Once the light turns solid blue, the setup is complete and your router is online.
The light did not turn solid blue?
- Make sure that your modem is plugged into the Internet port on the router.
- Restart your modem, wait until your modem is back online and wait about 2 minutes to see if the router’s light turns solid blue.
- Purple light - A solid purple light indicates the router is ready for setup. If the router is on the latest firmware, it should automatically start detecting an internet connection from your modem. However, if the light does not change, it’s possible the router may be on an older firmware or if you use PPPoE, go to the PPPoE section to manually configure it.
7. You can now connect your wireless devices to your WiFi network. The WiFi credentials are located on the product label.
