The Linksys SPNMX20CF is a Linksys Intelligent Mesh™ router provided by Community Fibre subscribers in the UK.
This article will show you how to set up and configure your router using the following methods:
- Automatic setup - Set up the router automatically when an internet connection is detected.
- Manual setup - Set up the router using the web interface if automatic setup did not start or no internet connection was detected.
Before you begin:
- Write down the WiFi name and password (case-sensitive) located on the parent node's product label.
- Parent router - This is the Linksys node that will be connected to your modem.
- Child node - This is an additional Linksys node to extend your WiFi network, such as another Linksys SPNMX20CF.
Once the router is plugged into the Community Fibre’s equipment, it will automatically begin setup once an internet connection is detected. Do not attempt to set up the router with the Linksys app.
1. Remove your old router.
2. Connect your Linksys router from the Internet port to your modem.
3. Power ON the router. It will display a solid purple light, which indicates it’s ready for setup.
Solid purple - Ready for setup
4. Within a few minutes, the router’s indicator light will start flashing white, which means the router is going through automatic setup. Wait until the light turns solid blue, which indicates that the router is now online.
Solid blue - Ready and online
Light did not turn solid blue?
- Make sure the ethernet cable is connected from the Internet port of your Linksys router to your modem
- If you have an existing upstream Linksys Mesh network, you will need to use another method, such as manually setting up the router through its web interface.
- If the router has a solid red light, hold down the reset button on the bottom of the router for about 20 seconds, and wait until the light turns solid purple. After a few minutes, check if the light changes to solid blue.
- Contact Community Fibre if you are still not able to get online.
5. Connect your WiFi devices to your new WiFi network. The WiFi credentials are located on the product label at the bottom of the router.

13. Now, check if your router is online. If the light on the node is solid blue, this indicates that your router is online. You can go to the next step.
If the light is red, this indicates that an internet connection was not detected. You can try the following:
- Make sure that your modem is plugged into the Internet port on the Linksys router.
- Power cycle your modem and check if the light turns solid blue after a few minutes.
- If there is no connection, contact your Community Fibre.
The dashboard will also display the online status.

- Yes - Power ON your child node near the parent router, no more than 10 ft during setup. Wait until the light is solid purple.
- Click on Add Wireless Child Nodes in the CA Router Setup tab. Wait for the child node’s light to turn solid blue, which can take a few minutes. When the child nodes have a solid blue light, click Ok.
