Scenario: You have your old gateway (modem-router) and you want to use your new router for WiFi connectivity instead of the old one. However, you still want the gateway connected as a modem only.
Solution: Turn OFF the WiFi of your old gateway.
NOTES:
- Turning OFF the WiFi on a router or gateway depends on either the device model or the internet service provider (ISP).
- Make sure to turn OFF the radio band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) and not just the SSID broadcast of your router or gateway.
