SPECIAL FEATURES

What is Guest Network or Guest Access?
Guest Access is a feature that allows you to share internet access without exposing the rest of your network. Devices connected to the Guest Network can go online but cannot see or access your computers or connected devices.

What it does: Creates a completely separate internet connection for visitors.

Security benefit: Guests can go online but cannot see your personal computers, shared files, or connected smart home devices.

What is Parental Controls?
The Parental Controls feature allows you to manage your kids’ internet use. You can restrict access to certain websites or block specific devices from accessing the internet.

What it does: Block specific user devices from the internet or restrict access to social media sites during homework hours.
What is Priority?
The Priority feature allows you to prioritize which devices on your network get the most bandwidth for less lag time and buffering.

What it does: Allows you to select up to three devices (wired or wireless) and move them to the front of your network's data line. The chosen devices receive guaranteed bandwidth first, while your remaining home devices share the rest.

When to use it: Assign priority to work laptops during video calls, smart TVs streaming high-definition content, or consoles used for online gaming to eliminate lag and buffering.

What is Night mode?
The Night mode feature, when enabled, turns OFF the light on all your nodes between 8 AM and 8 PM.

What it does: Turns off all bright physical LED status lights on your nodes at your preference. This feature is currently only supported on select Linksys models. If you do not see this option in your app settings, your hardware does not support it.

Why can’t I see all the features and functionality of my router or node?

TROUBLESHOOTING

Can I still set up the nodes without bringing them closer as instructed in the app during setup?
During setup, place your child nodes in the same room as the parent node or within a few feet of it. Once the setup is complete, move it to its intended location.
How close should the child nodes be during setup or when adding a child node?
They should be no more than 10 ft from the parent node.
My network name on the Network list does not match my SSID in the app. What should I do?

The network name displayed in the Linksys app is based on the WiFi name (SSID) configured during setup. If you changed the WiFi name using the router’s web interface or your mobile device is displaying a cached network name, the names may not match.

Try these solutions:

A. Forget and reconnect to your WiFi (Recommended)

On your mobile device:

1. Open your device’s WiFi settings.
2. Select your Linksys SSID or WiFi name.
3. Tap “Forget this network” or “Forget”.
4. Reconnect to the WiFi using your current WiFi password
5.
Log in to the Linksys app and check if the WiFi name is now correct.

B. Rename the WiFi name in the Linksys app

1. Log in to the Linksys app.
2. Tap on the menu icon and go to Wi-Fi Settings.
3. Tap on the Wi-Fi Name field.
4. If your SSID is “HomeWiFi”, make any small change to activate the Save button.
For example, delete and re-enter the last character, and then tap Save.
5. Check your network list again. The SSID should now be updated to match the current SSID of your network.
How do I change my WiFi password?
You can change the WiFi password by managing your WiFi credentials under the Wi-Fi Settings section of the Linksys app. Learn more.
If I enable the Safe Browsing feature, can I also use the DNS setting in Local Network Settings?
No. If you choose to manually enter other DNS servers, Safe Browsing will be disabled.
