SETUP AND INSTALLATION
How do I set up the node? PCCW installers will provide first-time installation. If you need to reset the node, you can set it up again through Auto Configuration Server (ACS) setup
What are the requirements for setting up the node? You will need the following:

  • An active PCCW internet connection
  • A mobile device with the latest version of the Linksys app for remote access
  • A Linksys cloud account for remote access
How do I add a child node to the Linksys SPNMX56PW?

You can add a node through the Linksys app. You can also add a node that is not from PCCW as long as it's set up as a child node, not a parent node. However, it may not benefit from the features that PCCW offers. Contact PCCW first.

Where can I find the default WiFi name and password? These can be found on the router's product label. The default WiFi name is _VelopSetup followed by the last three characters of the node’s MAC address, e.g., _VelopSetupxxx. Each router has a unique pre-assigned WiFi password.
What is the default administrative password? The default admin password is "admin", but you will be forced to change it if you try to access the node locally through the web interface, whether the node is configured or unconfigured.
How do I configure the WiFi access for guests? To configure the Guest Access/Guest Network feature, log in to the Linksys app, go to the menu, tap on Guest Network on your iOS device or Guest Access on Android™. Then, toggle the Guest Access switch to the ON position to enter your settings, and then tap Save.
What is the router's default guest WiFi name? The default guest WiFi name is _VelopSetupxxx –guest (the x's are for the last three characters of the router’s MAC address).
How do I configure Parental Controls? To configure Parental Controls, click on the links below:

Can I set up the node using the Linksys app? No. The node supports the PCCW automatic setup via ACS. When the node is connected from the Internet port to the PCCW equipment, it will begin to self-configure. If you try to set up the node with the app at this time, it will fail to detect the node. This is because it is detecting and setting up an internet connection for the parent node. Wait until the status light is solid blue, which means that the node is online and ready to use. You can then add the node to your Linksys app to manage your network.

WIFI SETTINGS
What WiFi security modes does it support? The Linksys SPNMX56PW supports the following settings:

  • WPA2™/WPA3™ Mixed Personal
  • WPA3 Personal Only
  • WPA2 Personal

Does it support Linksys Aware and Linksys Shield? No, the router supports the free basic Parental Controls feature only. Linksys Aware and Linksys Shield are not supported.
Does it support Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) pairing?

The node supports WPS, but it is not enabled by default and needs to be enabled first before you can connect your device. This can be done either through the Linksys app or the router's web interface.

On the Linksys app, go to Wi-Fi Settings > Connect a Device With WPS. On the router’s web interface, go to Wi-Fi Settings > Wi-Fi Protected Setup

Once you have enabled WPS on either platform, you can proceed to pair your device.

Does it support HomeKit®? While the Apple® HomeKit integration feature is not supported, your HomeKit-enabled devices will still function normally as they are treated as regular clients on your network.
