A parent node is a Linksys E7350 that is connected to your modem while a child node is another EasyMesh product (like another Linksys E7350) that will be used to extend your WiFi.
To set up a Linksys E7350 parent node, follow these instructions.
With the latest firmware, EasyMesh will be enabled after running the setup wizard.
For devices with older firmware, EasyMesh is turned OFF by default. If your router is already set up, you need to enable the EasyMesh feature to add other EasyMesh child nodes to extend your WiFi.
For instructions on setting up the router as a child node, follow these steps.
Yes, but first make sure that you have the latest firmware installed that supports EasyMesh. If the router was being used as a parent node, you will need to reset it. You may have to manually update the firmware, or if the router is still online, check if there is firmware available.
After you update the firmware, reset it and add it as a child node.
For instructions on enabling or disabling EasyMesh on your router, follow these steps.
Below are the default settings of the Linksys E7350:

TROUBLESHOOTING
You can reset the Linksys E7350 to factory defaults through the router’s web interface or using the Reset button
From a WiFi computer, wait until the default WiFi name appears before beginning setup again.
NOTE: The default WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx where xxxxx represents the last five digits of the serial number.
There are a few reasons why you are running into this problem.
- The parent node does not have EasyMesh turned ON. If this is the case, you need to enable the feature.
- The parent node is not on the latest firmware that has EasyMesh support. For instructions on how to update the firmware, follow these steps.
- The child node you are trying to add is not on the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh. You may need to manually update the firmware. After installing the latest firmware, try adding the child node again. For more details, follow these steps. For a list of Linksys EasyMesh-certified products, view the list here.
The EasyMesh feature is located in Configuration > Wi-Fi > Basic Wireless Settings. If you don’t have this option, you need to update the firmware on your router.
No. Linksys Velop nodes or Mesh routers are not compatible with Linksys EasyMesh products.
Go to Configuration > Wi-Fi > Basic Wireless Settings and uncheck the EasyMesh checkbox. Click on Save and wait for the router to save the settings. You may momentarily be disconnected from the WiFi until the router has saved the settings.
Reset your nodes and then set them up again accordingly.

Adding a child node to the Linksys E7350
After a failed password attempt, you will see a countdown timer on the page. Once this timer clears, you can then try entering your password again. The timer increases after each failed attempt, however after five failed attempts you are permanently locked out of the router. To fix this, you need to reset and reconfigure the router.
For the Linksys mesh router to work with a 5G router, your ISP must provide a 5G router with an ethernet port for connection to the parent node.
