What is the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301)? The Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) is a router equipped with Tri-band Wi-Fi® 6 technology, designed to deliver unparalleled internet speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps. Enjoy a seamless Plug-n-Play setup, complemented by enhanced Parental Controls and a secure Guest network.
What are the packaging contents?

Does it have indicator lights? The router has one status indicator light that provides information about its operation.
How many ports does the router have?

It has the following ports:

 

    • One gigabit internet port
    • Three gigabit ethernet ports
    • One power port
    • One USB 3.0 port (Reserved)
What is the USB port for? The USB 3.0 port is reserved for future use.
What is the warranty on the router? The warranty period is dependent on the country of purchase.
What’s the router’s weight and dimensions?

These are as follows:

SETUP AND INSTALLATION
How do I set up the router?

You can install it using a Plug-n-Play setup.

Can I manually set up the router? Yes, on some occasions like if you are using a PPPoE connection, you can set up your router manually.
What are the requirements for setup? All you need is an active internet connection.
What are the default settings?
    • The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
    • The default WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx where xxxxx represents the last five characters of the router's serial number.
    • The default Guest WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx -guest where xxxxx represents the last five characters of the router's serial number. Guest Access is initially turned OFF both before and after setup. You'll need to enable this feature in the router's web interface.
    • The default admin password is the same as the default WiFi password located at the bottom of the router.

ADVANCED SETTINGS
Does it update the firmware automatically? The Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) has automatic firmware updates. This is enabled by default and upgrades happen whenever a new firmware version is released.
Can I update the firmware manually? Updates can also be done manually.
Can I add a WiFi client using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS)? No. WPS is not supported.

TROUBLESHOOTING
My router is online, but the light is still solid purple. What should I do? Plug-n-Play setup is supported when the router is connected directly to a modem for DHCP internet connections. In some situations, such as connecting the router to an existing network, the Plug-n-Play feature may not have been activated, yet the router is online. However, since the Plug-n-Play feature did not activate, the light did not change from purple to solid blue. To address the light situation, here are steps you can follow to change the light to blue.
Does it support Linksys Velop Mesh technology? No. This model does not support Linksys Mesh; it is a standalone router only.
Can I use the Linksys app with the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301)? No. This router does not support Linksys cloud services; therefore, the Linksys app is not supported.
Can I add the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) as a child node to my existing network? No. Mesh technology is not supported.
How do I reset the router to its factory default settings? Insert a small item into the reset button, such as a paperclip, then press and hold until the light on top of the router turns red, fades, and flashes bright red again to reset the router to its factory defaults (about 15 seconds).
