How to change the LAN IP address of your Linksys Intelligent Mesh network
print icon

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique identifier that consists of four sets of numbers from 0 to 255, separated by three dots. This is required by all devices in the network to connect to the internet. By default, the IP address of a node is 192.168.1.1. With the latest firmware (e.g., the Linksys MX4200SH-SG with firmware 1.0.5.206190 or the Linksys MX2001SH-SG with 1.1.7.211289 and later), the new default IP address of some nodes has changed to 192.168.10.1.

If the upstream device uses the same IP address, the node will automatically use a different LAN IP address to avoid any conflict. To change its IP address, follow the steps below.

Directions

Steps and images may vary depending on the operating system of your mobile device. In the examples below, an Android™ device is used.

1. Launch your Linksys app and access your account.

2. Tap the menu icon.

3. Go to Advanced Settings.

4. Tap on Local Network Settings

5. Under Router Details, tap on the IP address and Subnet Mask fields to make changes. Tap Save once done.
