The hardware version is located beside or beneath the model number and is labeled version, ver., or V. If there is no version number beside the model number on your Linksys product, the device is version 1. If you still have trouble finding your version number, see the complete article to learn more.
Setting up the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) through Plug-n-Play
1. Connect your modem to the router's Internet port using an ethernet cable.
2. Power ON the router.
3. Allow the Plug-n-Play setup to initiate. The light on the Linksys router will begin flashing white, indicating that the Plug-n-Play setup is in progress.
Wait until the light turns to a solid blue. This may take a few minutes.
4. Your network is now ready for use.

1. Log in to the web interface of the router.
2. Click on Wi-Fi Settings under Router Settings.
3. Enter your desired WiFi name and WiFi password in the fields provided. The password is case-sensitive. You have the option to use identical names for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands or opt for unique names for each band.
4. Click on Apply and hit Ok to save changes.
Resetting the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301)
1. Press and hold the Reset button of the device.
The light on top of the router will flash bright red, pulse dimly three times, flash bright red again, and then turn OFF. You can release the reset button after this process, which takes 10-20 seconds.
2. Wait for the light to turn solid purple, indicating it is ready to be set up.
