Why can’t I replace my ISP-bundled SKU with a new retail unit like Linksys MX6200?
ISP-bundled SKUs entail specific requirements from the ISP, such as VLAN, TR-069/181, and Auto Configuration Server support (ACS) support, which are unavailable in retail units. These features are necessary for direct online connectivity between the router and your ISP's equipment. These SKUs are equipped with custom firmware from your ISP to ensure seamless compatibility and optimal performance with their equipment.
How can I add a retail unit like Linksys MX6200 to these ISP-bundled SKUs?
Double NAT will be required. That means your Linksys MX6200 (or any retail unit) will need to be directly connected to your ISP-bundled router.
